Hearing about current events in the media, especially amid a global pandemic and national reckoning on racial inequality, can often leave children confused, scared, or angry. In such challenging times, parents and caregivers must work closely with their children to help them understand and process these events. In this session, Globe parenting reporter and writer of the newsletter "In the Family Way" Kara Baskin will interview a panel of child psychologists and journalists for advice on talking with children about the news. Families are encouraged to attend together to hear directly from experts like the Globe's Andy Rosen, host and creator of Extra Scoops, a current-events based podcast for grade schoolers designed to familiarize kids with news reporting.
